The City of Marion, Kansas will receive sealed bids for the construction of Surface Preservation – 1st St to West City Limit at the City Hall, 208 E. Santa Fe, Marion, KS 66861, until 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 12, 2019. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the specified closing time.

Major items of work include: 13,500 square yards of Milling, 1,650 tons of HMA – Commercial Grade (Class A), 123 cubic yards of Common Excavation, 33 cubic yards of Compaction of Earthwork (Type B)(MR-90), 40 tons of HMA – Commercial Grade (Class A)(Patching), 125 square yards of Aggregate Base (AB-1)(4”), 125 square yards of Geosynthetic Reinforcement (For Base), 1,115 square yards of Aggregate Shoulder (AS-1)(4”), 3,245 lineal feet of Pavement Marking (Multi-Component)(White)(6”), 5,392 lineal feet of Pavement Marking (Multi- Component)(Yellow)(4”), 24 lineal feet of Pavement Marking (Multi-Component)(White)(12”), 2 each of Pavement Marking Symbol (Intersection Grade)(White)(Railroad Xing), Traffic Control Items, and other appurtenances.

Bidding Documents: Electronic copies of the bidding documents may be obtained through the Engineer’s website: www.ebhengineering.com/plan-room, by entering your information in the required fields. Addenda, if any and Plan Holders list will also be available through the EBH website Plan Room. Hard copies of the Bidding Documents are available at the Engineer’s office upon depositing $100.00 per set. No refunds will be made. The date that the Bidding Documents are downloaded by the contractor will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of
Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with Instructions
to Bidders.

Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
