2008 KPAS Project of the Year
Project was awarded 2008 Kansas Paving Association State Project of the Year
The City of Anthony needed to update their airport taxiways, runways, and turnaround pads. They called their on-call engineering firm, EBH Engineering, to assist with the project. The project included complete reconstruction of 60’ x 3600’ asphalt runway to 75’ x 3600’ with 6” concrete runway with subgrade modified base and edge drain system. The project also included new runway lighting system, windcone, PAPI’s and REILs.
The biggest challenge on the project was completing it in a timeframe to minimize the runway closure. Top priorities for this project were installation of long lasting pavement and short duration closure.
