The City of Ellinwood, Kansas needed major street and drainage improvements in part of the town. The project included design and engineering for construction which included excavation, curb and gutter, salvage brick, sidewalk construction, street pavement, and storm sewer pipe. Streets, sidewalks, and storm sewers were all replaced by the contractor. The four month project was completed during spring and summer months to avoid weather delays.

Project Details

The project consisted of a full depth pavement replacement with new curb and gutter on First Street from Kennedy Avenue to Humbolt Avenue, on Second Street from Wilhelm Avenue to Kennedy Avenue, and on Wilhelm Avenue from First Street to Third Street in Ellinwood, Kansas. The improvements were made to include upgrading the storm sewer that runs north of 7th Street to the North Channel. The 18” and 36” RCP was replaced with a 42” RCP from the North City limits approximately 245 feet to the North Channel. The project included:

  • Removal of existing roadway
