Are you planning a trail project in your community and need funding assistance? The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks’ Recreational Trails Program provides 80% matching funds, on a reimbursement basis, for eligible recreational trail construction costs.

The 2022 Recreational Trails Program Application and Guide is not available yet. It should be posted on the KDWP website soon. The next application round will be due November 15, 2022.

Part of the application process is to:

Describe how the project meets the needs of the current Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) and/or the master planning document the trail is part of.

Having a Trails Master Plan will strengthen your application. Developing a Trails Master Plan takes significant planning time. Starting the application preparation sooner rather than later will help ensure you have the strongest application possible.

EBH will be your trusted advisor throughout the grant application and funding process leading to the design and engineering of your project. We work closely with funding and regulatory agencies to reach win-win design and engineering solutions, maximizing the use of grant funds for your city.

Contact EBH Engineering today to learn more about how we can help you obtain funding and provide engineering design services your next trail project!
