The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will begin taking applications for the Cost Share Program on August 14 with a final submission deadline of September 21.

The Kansas Department of Transportation is now accepting applications for the fall 2023 round of the agency’s Cost Share Program.

The Cost Share Program provides financial assistance to local entities for construction projects that improve safety, leverage state funds to increase total transportation investment and help both rural and urban areas of the state improve the transportation system. The program was created in fall 2019.

The deadline to submit applications is September 21.

The KDOT Cost Share Program provides financial assistance to local entities for transportation projects that improve safety, support job retention and growth, improve access or mobility, relieve congestion and help areas across the state improve the transportation system.

The Cost Share program is one of KDOT’s most flexible funding opportunities for communities, allowing communities to apply for assistance with a wide range of highway, local road, bridge, rail, airport, bicycle, pedestrian and public transit projects – as long as they can provide at least a 15 percent local cash match. KDOT funds are used exclusively to match construction costs for these projects.

All applications must be received online by end of business day on September 21, 2023 to be considered.

During the fall 2023 round, $11 million is available.
Requested funds must be no larger than $1,500,000 per project.

More information and the link to the application are available on KDOT’s website at http://www.ksdot.org/CostShare/CostShareProgram.asp. All applications will be completed through an online link. A sample PDF application will be available for preview.

An informational webinar will be held on August 24. SIGN UP FOR THE WEBINAR HERE.
