Bids for the construction of Paint Improvements 2025 will be received by hard copy at the Public Wholesale Water Supply District No. 18, 22850 P Road, or electronically on the online plan room of the engineer: www.ebhengineering.com/plan-room, until July 29, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. local central time. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the specified closing time.

Major items of work: Prepare interior metal surfaces and apply new coatings for the top 5 feet and troughs of two clarifier cones. An alternate bid will be accepted to prepare interior metal surfaces and apply new coatings to the entire interior of the clarifier cones.

All contractors bidding on this job shall visit the plant and inspect the work to be completed prior to the opening of the bids. Contact the water treatment plant at 785-364-3098.

All work is inside the cone room of the PWWS District No. 18 Water Treatment Plant. The treatment plant will not be shut down or taken out of service for this work to be performed. There are two cones that will need work completed inside of them. The plant personnel will remove one cone from service at a time. The paint on the first cone painted shall be dry before the second cone will be taken out of service. Work shall be completed and the plant back into production on or before December 1, 2025. No work shall be completed on weekends or holidays. All work shall take place between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. local central time.

Bidding Documents may be examined at the treatment plant located at 22850 P Road in Holton, Kansas, or at the Engineer’s Office.

Bidding Documents – Electronic copies of the bidding documents may be obtained through the Engineer’s website: www.ebhengineering.com/plan-room, by entering your information in the required fields. Addenda, if any and Plan Holders list will also be available through the EBH website Plan Room. Hard copies of the Bidding Documents are available at the Engineer’s office upon depositing $100.00 per set. No refunds will be made. The date that the Bidding Documents are downloaded by the contractor will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Sales Tax Status – Labor services, materials, and equipment incorporated into the work for the project are exempt from payment of Kansas Sales Tax. A Project Exemption Certificate will be issued for this project.

Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with Instructions to Bidders.

Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60-days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
