Bids for the Contractor Installed Phase of the Project will be received by hard copy at City Hall, 201 W Main Street, Lyons, Kansas 67554, or electronically on the online plan room of the engineer:, until Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read via telephone and video conference immediately after the specified closing time. Interested persons may listen to a live teleconference of the bid opening by dialing 785-289-5712 and entering conference ID 613 892 60#. A link to the video feed of the bid opening will be sent to plan holder’s email addresses on the day prior to bid opening. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis.

Major items of work include: Contractor Installed Phase: Installing approximately 697 l.f. of 8” SDR 26 PVC sewer main; including manholes, and appurtenances. Work also includes Courthouse Sanitary Sewer Improvements as shown on Attachment 1 of the Drawings. City Installed Phase: The owner will be installing approximately 930 l.f. of additional 8” C900 PVC waterline concurrently; including hydrants, valves, connections, service connection, right-of-way restoration, and appurtenances.

Bidding Documents: Electronic copies of the bidding documents may be obtained through the Engineer’s website:, by entering your information in the required fields. Addenda, if any and Plan Holders list will also be available through the EBH website Plan Room. Hard copies of the Bidding Documents are available at the Engineer’s office upon depositing $100.00 per set. No refunds will be made. The date that the Bidding Documents are downloaded by the contractor will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Bid Security: in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with Instructions to Bidders.

Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
