The Marion County Commissioners will receive sealed bids for the Project to Reconstruct Kanza Road – US56 to 180th, until 1:30 pm, Monday, January 9, 2023. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the specified closing time at Commission Chambers in the County Court House in Marion, 200 S. 3rd St, Marion, Kansas 66861

Major items of work include Approximately:
Base Bid – 10” Crushed Base with 8” Concrete Surface: 15,700 cubic yards of Unclassified Excavation, 15,900 tons of Crushed Material, 31,200 square yards of Haul and Installing Crushed Material over Geomaterial, 700 square yards of 8” Concrete Pavement Approaches, 27,000 square yards of 8” Concrete Pavement, 4,300 square yards of 8” AB material Shoulder, 20,000 linear feet of 4” White Pavement Marking, 2,800 lineal feet of 4” Solid Yellow Pavement Marking, 2,600 linear feet of 4” Yellow Pavement Marking Skips (10/40), 1 Rem/Reset Mailbox, 9 Rem/Reset Signs, Traffic Control Items, and other appurtenances.

Add/Alt 1 – 10” Cement Treated Base with 8” Concrete Surface: 11,400 cubic yards of Unclassified Excavation, 8,000 tons of Crushed Material, 31,200 square yards of Haul and Installing Crushed Material, 31,200 square yards of Cement Treated Base, 1,150 tons of Cement (6%), 700 square yards of 8” Concrete Pavement Approaches, 27,000 square yards of 8” Concrete Pavement, 4,300 square yards of 8” AB material Shoulder, 20,000 linear feet of 4” White Pavement Marking, 2,800 lineal feet of 4” Solid Yellow Pavement Marking, 2,600 linear feet of 4” Yellow Pavement Marking Skips (10/40), 1 Rem/Reset Mailbox, 9 Rem/Reset Signs, Traffic Control Items, and other appurtenances.

Add/Alt 2 – Alter Pavement Marking Material: Change Pavement Marking material from Multicomponent to Epoxy.

Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with Instructions to Bidders.

Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities or to reject any or all bids.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
