Sealed Bids for the construction of Airport Improvements 2023 will be received, by the City of Montezuma, Kansas, addressed as follows: City Administrator, 300 W. Geronimo, Montezuma, KS 67867-0378 or City of Montezuma, PO Box 378, Montezuma, KS 67867-0378 until 2:00, P.M, Thursday, August 10, 2023. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the specified closing time at City Hall. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis.

Work consists of: The major items of work for airport highway improvements include: 1 Lump Sum of Mobilization, 888 Tons of Milling, 8500 Lineal Feet of Crack Sealing (Small), 3554 Tons of HMA-Commercial Grade (Class A), 451 Tons of HMA-Commercial Grade (Class A) (Patching), 5051 Square Feet of Pavement Marking (White), 935 Square Feet of Pavement Marking (Yellow), 1 Lump Sum of Traffic Control, 1 Lump Sum of Contractor Construction Staking, and other appurtenances.

Bidding Documents: Electronic copies of the bidding documents may be obtained through the Engineer’s website: www.ebhengineering.com\plan-room, by entering your information in the required fields. Addenda, if any, and Plan Holders list will also be available through the EBH website Plan Room. Hard copies of the Bidding Documents are available at the Engineer’s office upon depositing $100.00 per set. No refunds will be made. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Bid security: Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with Instructions to Bidders.

Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities or to reject any or all bids.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
