The City of Tribune, Kansas will receive sealed bids for the construction of Hospital Street Improvements 2020 at the City Hall, 508 Broadway, P.O. Box 577, Tribune, KS 67879, until 1:30 P.M. Local Mountain Time, Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the specified closing time.

Major items of work include: Base Bid: 30 lineal feet of curb and gutter, combined, 2720 square yards of 7” concrete pavement, 85 square yards of 8” concrete valley gutter, 21 square yards of 4” sidewalk, 1 each ADA detectable, 3 each manhole adjustments, 1 each water valve box adjustment, traffic control, erosion control and appurtenances. Additive/Alternate 1: 85 lineal feet of curb and gutter, combined, 105 square yards of 7” concrete pavement, 160 square yards of 8” concrete valley gutter. Additive/Alternate 2: 955 cubic yards of unclassified excavation, 3070 square yards of aggregate base (asphalt millings). Additive/Alternate 3: 27 cubic yards of unclassified excavation, 327 lineal feet of curb and gutter, combined, 45 square yards of 6” concrete pavement.

Bidding Documents: Electronic copies of the bidding documents may be obtained through the Engineer’s website:, by entering your information in the required fields. Addenda, if any and Plan Holders list will also be available through the EBH website Plan Room. Hard copies of the Bidding Documents are available at the Engineer’s office upon depositing $100.00 per set. No refunds will be made. The date that the Bidding Documents are downloaded by the contractor will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Bid Security: Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with Instructions to Bidders.

Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
