Goodland Steak N Shake & Enterprise Circle
EBH partnered with the developer and the City of Goodland in the development of a Steak N Shake restaurant and associated public infrastructure. This was a rare, high profile commercial development project in Goodland, with intense public observation. It was important to keep the public informed and communicate progress of the project with the owner, city, and citizens.

Due to the tight timeline required by the developer, no bids were received for the public street portion of the project. EBH worked to bring together the site contractor, an asphalt contractor, and the City to collectively complete the project. EBH coordinated the project between the contractors and directed the site contractor who was unfamiliar with public works specifications and required methods. Despite record springs rains, the street opened just three days behind schedule. The project included:
- Development of site design concept and obtained corporate approvals
- Area storm water planning
- Creation of construction documents for site, street, and utility improvements
- Coordination and management of street construction with two separate contractors and City crews
- Boundary survey and construction staking
- Storm water pollution control permitting
